Travel Insurance

If you are unfortunate enough to fall sick whilst in a remote corner of the world, miles from comprehensive medical facilities, your decision to buy travel insurance could, quite simply, be a matter of life or death. Should an emergency arise, travel insurers will pay for treatment abroad, including necessary transportation with paramedic support to the most appropriate hospital. Repatriation to the UK is also included upon the advice of your doctors. Literally thousands of people who have bought travel insurance at the last minute have counted their blessings when the cover has allowed them to be airlifted to a specialist unit to treat their injury or disease whilst on holiday.
A standard travel policy will also provide you with some level of hijack cover and also public liability cover in case you are responsible for injury to a third party or damage to his property. On a lighter note, you will be covered for baggage and personal effects, money (including travellers cheques), travel delay, loss of passport and cancellation or curtailment of your holiday.
You may simply wish to take out cover for a single trip or, if you intend to travel a number of times in the next 12 months, you may find that annual cover is cheaper.

All travel insurance products have an age limitation and we feel we should mention that one of the main facilities we use restricts the age at the time of travel to those aged 79 and under for single trip policies and 65 and under for annual multi-trip policies although, as independent brokers, we are not restricted to one market and may secure terms with markets that have different acceptance criteria.
